I consider myself "from" the East Anglia region of England. I've been living in Berlin, Germany since 2014 and still like it quite a lot!

In the spirit of learning in public, I originally started this blog as a way to document my professional shift from general content person (writing, editing, translating) to software developer. It's been a few years now and the initial learning curve has evened out a bit, but I'm still enjoying the challenges of building upon my technical knowledge whilst applying the skills I gained in my earlier career.

Python, specifically the Django web framework, made me fall in love with programming. Given my somewhat unusual path into it all, this is my coding origin story, if you're curious.

Reading is my lifelong passion and when I'm not working, you'll most likely find me chipping away at my 600-strong TBR list stuck in a good book. I especially love to read non-fic that helps me understand today's society, as well as novels and memoirs with themes of self-discovery and/or a strong sense of place.
